Bridget

Project type

Bridget- painting

Date

May 23, 2023

Location

Cranston, Rhode Island

Original painting: 24x36 • acrylic and oil pastels on canvas.

Bridget is a beauty that no one has realized yet. She's shy and a tomboy, who is more interested in fishing and catching fireflies than chatting with boys.
Bridget is painted in a style reminiscent of expressionism, focusing on emotional impact rather than realistic representation. Her exaggerated features-large eyes and elongated neck, enhance her sense of vulnerability and introspection. I painted her in a limited color palette, primarily featuring earthy tones. The brushstrokes are visible and deliberate, adding texture and movement. Bridget’s expression conveys a sense of melancholy or contemplation. The window's warm light is to suggest external world, symbolizing hope, warmth, and an internal emotional state.
I hope you love her as much as I do!
